In Japan it's the thing a shop throws in free: the extra piece, the snack in the bag, for no reason but liking you.

Reasonable questions
Nothing for diners. Enrollment is free. The card holds no money.
Ask them. A counter can be set up in an afternoon, and you get the first stamp.
Points do not expire just because time has passed. That's Quebec's Consumer Protection Act. A restaurant may expire points or a card after twelve months with no earn or redeem there, and we send written notice 30 to 60 days before. Issued vouchers expire on the date shown.
Your first name and last initial, and the visit they are recording. Never your email, full profile, or other restaurants' programs.
They scan your diner QR, one code at every counter. You may screenshot it. Cards live in the app and do not export to Apple Wallet or Google Pay.
